Three Categories
50% - 21st Century Skills
- Questioning
- Teamwork
- Project Management
- Research
- Craftsmanship
30% - Completed Project - Presented to Authentic Audience
20% - Content related work - Quizzes
All three categories are under complete control of the students. For evaluation of the 21st Century Skills, the proficiency level descriptors are below. Please notice that all the students will be asked to complete, at a minimum, C level work. The students who choose to put in more time and quality of work during class time, remembering I will not assign homework, will produce evidence for B or A level work. Not all students will be willing to do more work during the school class period.
What is evidence?
Think of this as if you are a detective trying to prove/solve a crime. You will need to gather writings, pictures, dates - essentially proof that you did what you are claiming you did.
The 30% completed project presented and on website will be a result of the work being done on the 21st century skills. This is not an extra requirement but a result of being intentional about questions, working with others, meeting deadlines, using sources relevant to each students work and giving and receiving feedback.
The 20% for content related work will be basics of US History that will be answered through their research and then applied to their real world, current work, through application.
All evidence for all three categories should be gathered and presented, typed when possible or in handwriting that is readable.
