Driving Question
How can you create an infographic that compares your criteria for home and an Indigenous Peoples home before colonization?
Supporting Questions
How was the indigenous peoples home affected by European imperialism?
What emotions would you feel if you were forcibly removed from your home?
Project Description
Home can mean multiple things. Home could be a place where your fondest memories live. Home could be described by a feeling you feel. Home could be the place you currently live or not. Maybe, home can only be a place that you say it is, nobody else can decide it for you. What if somebody you did not know tried to tell you where your home is? What would be your response?
For this project, students will be examining imperialism/colonialism and its effects on the homes for many. We will specifically be looking at the effects of colonialism in Africa, the Americas and India.
