Day 8 - Being Recognized at Senior Teacher Appreciation Night!

Today, I am grateful to be able to attend Senior Teacher Appreciation Night for our Tempe Girls Volleyball! 

Being recognized by Hailee and Amy is one of the best recognitions I can recieve!

I use to think I wanted to be recognized by people outside of my classroom because that would mean that I have really made it as an educator. I have learned that those awards are very much about who you know and how long you have been doing something. Being recognized by students who have experienced me in the classroom is so dope!

Having these two in American History and Psychology over the last three years and having them experience me while I have been going through all of my own shit and still recognize that I have been "good" and bring some sort of joy and peace into their lives is again, dope!

Being a teacher can, at times, be a very thankless job. 

I will be playing these positive vibes on repeat as we work our way this school year!
