Ensuring effective management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment
An education leader promotes the success of every student by ensuring management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
Creating the Professional Development Plan for STEAM2 Classes
Brief Explanation of Lesson Learned
Being able to think through this process was exciting because we are creating our future instead of waiting to be told what will be needed. I have been able to have lengthy conversations about why we do what we do and how we can innovate and do what is best for our students and what will lead us to be successful with our district strategic plan. I have been consistently reminded how many professional educators we have in our building that are making decisions not because they are going to be easy but will help us move towards our goals and how to best prepare our students for the ever-changing world they are navigating daily.
Acting Administrator
Brief Explanation of Lesson Learned
I had the opportunity to step in to an administrator role while one of our building administrators was out of town for an extended amount of time. This time is invaluable with the situations that present themselves and then having to properly make professional decisions on what is best for the student and others involved. There really is the “other side” of the school day from being the classroom teacher to being an administrator in the main office. Although my passion is having conversations with teachers about pedagogy and methodology and the practice of those for what is best for students and their learning, being able to have conversations with students who are needing someone who will listen and make a decision to do what is best for them is something I have taken pride in.
