Solar Power:

It's Time to Power Up!

Class Description
There is a world-wide movement towards energy sources that are a clean and renewable.
Scientist agree that there needs to be a shift in our thinking when it comes to our interaction with our world. Throughout this class we will explore our climate, the energy we use and how we can start a movement to make a positive impact in our community through solar power, a renewable energy source.

Our work will be based in answering this challenging question…

How can you help transform East Middle School into a renewable energy leader, specifically solar energy?

Learning Goals will include;
  1. Conversations about our changing climate.
  2. Grow in our understanding of renewable energy sources.
  3. Research and develop a plan to start a movement at East Middle School.
  4. Explore how to scale up the solar capturing process to lead East Middle School’s kickoff into harnessing the power of the sun.
