In this project, students selected a local ice cream shop and developed a marketing plan to spread their product idea. Students are beginning to develop their research skills in order to have a thorough plan to present to an authentic audience of business owners, marketing directors and managers. Many times customers believe that lowering the cost of a product is a solution to attract customers when in reality a business in the business to make money, not give it away.
The students developed their plan by collaborating with others and researching their company to better understand their business in and out. Once this research was underway, students were presented documents by a local marketing director of how to develop a small business marketing plan. The students then had more questions to answer in order to hone their message in on specific customer.
