Standard 2
Developing a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth
.

An education leader promotes the success of every student by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.

PBIS Behavior Management Pilot

Brief Explanation of Lesson Learned
Being a sixth grade teacher allows for opportunities to pilot new programs with students because our students are just starting their middle school careers. We were asked to pilot an online program that the district was thinking about purchasing to support Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports implementation throughout the district. This program would allow for data to be tracked and intervention and supports offered to help teachers in the classroom. We recently found out that the district decided to move away from this program because of its actual usefulness to the process compared to its price.

Web Design of MrWince.com

Brief Explanation of Lesson Learned
I love designing a website to share information. I view this as a necessary skill to share with all stakeholders what is happening in the classroom. I have had parents express joy that they can see what is happening and how they can ask questions of their children when wanting to have a conversation about what is happening in school. I use the website for students and a common place to share documents and information that they need to continue the awesome work they are doing.
