Today, was dope!
I am writing this later in the day and I am happy that I waited. I was hoping news was going to come because of how I felt the interview went but I didn't know where I am and what I bring to the conversation compared to others. I was nominated by our AEA President Marisol Garcia to be part of this 3 year program called Leaders for Just Schools through NEA (National Educators Association), the largest public sector Union in the US. This program is focused on Racial and Social Justice in Education and Schools and promotes the learning journey of the individual, me, and how I can lead my local and state union to address problems and issues that are impacting our young people and communities disproportionately. Year 1 is a personal journey. Year 2, I had the opportunity to interview to be a facilitator for the next cohort that will be starting in Denver. I am humbled and cannot wait to continue to learn from all the dope educators from around the country and world!
